BEAUMONT MAN ADMITS TO DEALING METH
(Beaumont, TX) United States Attorney Matthew D. Orwig announced today that a 33-year-old Beaumont man has pleaded guilty to federal drug charges in the Eastern District of Texas. KENNETH EARL MCBRYDE admitted to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamines and money laundering today before United States Magistrate Judge Earl Hines.
“This investigation, dubbed Operation White Ice, stresses the commitment of our federal, state and local law enforcement to work together to rid our communities of those who sell poison to our children,” said U.S. Attorney Orwig.
According to information presented in court, an investigation into the distribution of “ice” methamphetamine resulted in a 12-count indictment in June 2006, charging McBryde and five co-defendants with federal drug charges.
McBryde faces up to 20 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $1 million at sentencing. A sentencing date has not been set.
