Directions: The Kirby Mansion is private property and is accessible by permission only. All visitors must enter the property through the gated entrance on Smith Street. When you arrive at the Kirby Mansion, please press the button on the call box and give your name. Parking for visitors is in the first lot. The entrance to the Mansion is on the Smith St. side of the building. Visitors should follow the side-walk to the main entrance into the building, which proudly flies both the Texas and American flags. We look forward to your visit.
From 45 North (IAH- Intercontinental Airport)
Take I-45 South to Downtown Houston. Take Pierce/Bagby Exit. Exit and remain on the feeder and keep to the left at the light on Pierce. You will see the Mansion, merge to right lane. Take a right on Smith Street. The Kirby Mansion and Entrance will be on your right. Press Call Button.
From 45 South (Hobby Airport / Galveston)
Take I-45 North to Downtown Houston. Prior to downtown, exit on the Downtown Destinations Exit. Exit and remain on St. Joseph's Parkway until you reach Smith Street. Turn left (south) on Smith and proceed under I-45. Merge to right lane. The Kirby Mansion and Entrance will be on your right. Press Call Button.
From 288 South (Pearland/Freeport)
Take 288 North to Houston. As you approach downtown, keep to right and merge onto 59 North. Merge into the right hand lanes and exit Pierce/Gray exit. Take a left on West Gray. Proceed on West Gray to Brazos (You will see the Mansion on the left, but need to circle the building to the entrance on Smith Street). Take a right on Brazos, a right on Pierce, and a right on Smith. The Kirby Mansion and Entrance will be on your right. Press Call Button.
From 1-10 West (San Antonio / Katy)
Take I-10 East to I-45 South (Galveston). Take I-45 South to Downtown Houston. Take Pierce/Bagby Exit. Exit and remain on the feeder and keep to the left at the light on Pierce. You will see the Mansion, merge to right lane. Take a right on Smith Street. The Kirby Mansion and Entrance will be on your right. Press Call Button.
From 59 South (Corpus Christi / Sugarland)
Take 59 North past 610 toward downtown Houston. Take the Downtown Exit and continue to Brazos St. Continue straight on Brazos through West Gray. Get into the right lane. (You will see the Mansion on the right, but need to circle the building to the entrance on Smith Street). Take a right on Pierce, and a right on Smith. The Kirby Mansion and Entrance will be on your right. Press Call Button.
Parking:
Enter driveway off of Smith Street. Press button on the call box. Please advise the receptionist of your name and that you are visiting Mr. Floyd. Once inside the gate, park in the first lot on the Smith side of the building. The Main Entrance to the Kirby Mansion also faces Smith Street and is accessed by the side walk in front of the building. Look for the two flags. Welcome.
