She had just gotten taken away from her mother and was in a foster home, and she accused my fiancee of touching her. He was young too and didn't know what to do.. didn't have an attorney.. so he plead guilty to get probation and not jail time... he thought they wouldn't believe that he didn't do it.. and he was scared. He was sentenced to 10 yrs. probation, and did good for 2 years. Then he couldn't afford the classes anymore, so he quit going. Then he quit going to report to his probation officer and quit registering as a sex offender. He was on the run for 5 yrs. and they finally caught him about a week ago. His neice is now 18 yrs. old, and she came forward the day he got arrested and said she lied about the whole thing because she thought if she said that, they would let her go home with her mom. She says she's willing to go to the judge and tell them he didn't do anything.. but everyone is telling us it's too late.. he already took the plea bargain and plead guilty.. it can't be over turned even if she does recant... so now he's charged with failure to register and revoke of his probation. He's looking at a long time in prison for something he didn't even do.. and we don't know what to do now! His neice that accused him of this also accused 3 other people of the same thing and they are actually serving time in prison as I type! It's sad to know that justice is not always served, and there really are innocent people behind bars! What is a man to do in this situation?! His whole life has been ruined because a scared 9 yr. old girl said something that wasn't true.. and he's lost his whole life.. since he was 14 years old! The system is all backwards, and she should be the one behind bars for falsely accusing people of such a terrible crime!
