Product Liability Automobile Defects Lawyers

Stand-Up Trial Lawyers, Serious Product Liability and Automobile Design Defect

Product liability defendants – often mega corporations who put profits over safety - can be held liable based on the law of strict liability. This means that rather than focus on the behavior of the manufacturer, strict liability claims focus on the product itself. Under strict liability, the manufacturer is liable if the product is defective, even if the manufacturer was not negligent in making the product defective. These mega corporations often hire teams of lawyers in an effort to discourage ordinary folks from trying to take them on in court.

Using the same team approach that has proven successful in medical device and dangerous drug cases, our attorneys can handle personal injury lawsuits for clients throughout the United States, including cases involving:

•SUV Rollovers: Many SUVs have a high center of gravity, giving them the propensity to rollover. Many SUVs were designed poorly and few have rollbars.

•Tire tread separation: A dangerous and common tire defect is tread separation, which occurs when the tread separates from the tire as the result of a defect in design or manufacturing. Tread separation can lead to a tire blowout and can cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle. Passenger vans and SUVs are at greater risk of a rollover when a tire's tread separates.

•Seat back failure: Seatback failure can occur when a vehicle with bucket seats is involved in a collision. The seats may bend or collapse, causing serious personal injuries. Seat back problems are usually the result of flimsy and defective parts, including seatbacks, seat tracks, and recliner mechanisms.

•Defective Seatbelts: Thankfully, most Americans now buckle up. However, numerous seat belts have a defect in their design that can lead to serious personal injuries and death. Improperly designed seat belts can cause the buckle to unlatch during an accident or rollover, the belt retractor to fail during an accident, or strangulation, neck and spinal injuries during an accident.

•Air bag defects: Not all air bags serve to protect drivers and passengers. When airbags are defective, they can cause chemical burns, severe head injuries, eye damage or even death.
